Tree Care for Ivanhoe's Gardens
Ivanhoe is one of Melbourne's leafier inner-northern suburbs, with a strong tree canopy across its established residential streets and the elevated blocks around Ivanhoe East. Many properties sit on generous allotments with mature eucalypts, oaks and exotics, and the area's proximity to the Darebin Creek and Yarra corridors means significant native vegetation and occasional storm exposure.
Leafy Tree Care provides the full range of tree services across Ivanhoe and Ivanhoe East. Whether you're managing a large gum overhanging the house, planning works that affect a protected tree, or maintaining an established garden, we handle every job to the Australian Standard and with the care the area's canopy deserves.

๐๏ธ Banyule Council Permits โ The Local Rules
Ivanhoe falls under the City of Banyule, which is one of Melbourne's stricter councils for native and large trees.
Under Banyule's planning scheme, a permit is generally required to remove or prune a tree that is 12 metres or taller, or has a trunk or stems 0.4 metres or more in diameter measured at 1.4 metres above the ground. A permit is also required if the tree is on Banyule's Significant Tree Register, or falls within a Vegetation Protection Overlay (VPO). VPO Schedule 3 specifically covers the Eaglemont, Ivanhoe East and Ivanhoe area.
Banyule's removal permit fee is around $198, and pruning around $99. We'll confirm whether a permit is needed, prepare the certified arborist report, and guide you through the application, at no extra charge for the assessment.
